Mootz Run Tea Shop

The Mootz Run Tea Shop is nestled in the hills of Central Ohio along the meandering creek, Mootz Run, whose name we share. We live on the same property in an Italianate home circa 1872, built by the Spellman family, one of the original settlers of Granville, Ohio. We are blessed to live in Alexandria and St. Albans Township, a community that embraces rural neighborhood businesses. This is a model that is fast becoming the wave of the future as Americans reevaluate priorities and strive for a simpler lifestyle.

The shop is located in the barn loft beneath a beamed ceiling and gallery lighting. The bright colors and botanical aromas will cheer you up. We feature many products from artists and artisans who share a similar lifestyle.

Our loose leaf tea shop has over 300 varieties of wonderful teas. We are serious about our tea and have the best in each category. You can find puerh, yellow tea, semi-oxidized oolong, cherry blossom tea, first flush Darjeeling, single estate teas, blooming teas, Japanese green tea, Chinese green tea, Irish Breakfast, white tea, rooibos, yerba mate, fruit teas, herbal tea, single herbs and our artisan tea blends. Our tea shop has something for everyone- from the novice to the seasoned tea drinker.

Our brand is Petali Teas, which is Italian for petals, an ingredient we use freely in our blends. We sell our product wholesale to tearooms, coffee houses, restaurants, spas and specialty shops throughout the world. We also design glass teapots and import crystallized flowers from Europe.

Please feel free to stop in and visit us. You may be greeted by Henry and Luke, our rooster and cat, respectively.

Directions to the Shop

From Columbus- hop on 161 and head East about 17 minutes. You will see 310 exit- don't take it. Continue on to the next exit called Johnstown 37. Take this exit and go left (North). The next road up is Worthington Road. Take a right. Don't let the barricade scare you. Go around it and we are up on the left hand side past the church.

Going back is a little precarious. You need to go back to the barricade and turn left and go all the way down the road until you see Morse rd. Take a right and go to 310. Take a right and it will connect with West 161.

From Newark- we are West of Granville. Best way to get to us during construction is to go West on 16 to Gooselane. Turn right and go all the way to Outville. Turn right on Outville and go all the way to the dead end. Turn left and we are at the bottom of the hill. Another way to go is Raccoon Valley Road into Alexandria and turn left. Go for about 1/4 mile and Worthington is on the left. Just go around the barricade. We are on the left or North side beyond the church.
